Just some murals from my trip to Istanbul/Turkey. These murals are all from the Asia side of Istanbul in a neighborhood called Kadiköy. Unfortunately I could not get the names of the artists. If anyone knows the artists PLEASE put them in the comments.

Late post:
Thank you to everyone who came to the mural tour in support of the @pilsen_food_pantry
And thank you to @pilsenartscommunityhouse and @casaindigo18 for co-sponsoring the event. Please stayed tuned for more mural tour fundraisers in support of our local orgs.
📷: unknown but I think it was someone from the Figueroa Wu Family Foundation

On my latest trip to Honolulu I stopped by the #kakaakowallart and it was AMAZING! So much great art, I wish I could post them all. You'll just have to see for your self :)
My apologies for any artist that I did not tag- if you know them please tag them.

I had the pleasure of briefly interviewing el maestro Oscar Romero on his new work along 16th street east of Blue Island. He is doing this for FREE. All he asked is if you see him out there and would like to contribute he is accepting gift cards to Blick and Home Depot so he can buy more materials.
Note: This interview is in Spanish

I had a great time giving a tour to these young 4th graders. We visited these mosaics on Cooper School. The maestro Francisco Mendoza lead this project. If you would like to learn more about other murals on 18th street by the late Francisco Mendoza please join me for the virtual tour on December 7th at 6:30. Link in the bio.

BIKE TOUR THIS SATURDAY AT 12PM!
MEET AT 18TH STREET AND WESTERN AVE.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on another fun bike tour of the murals. We had a wonderful time and had a chance to chat with @pabloserranoart about his mural in progress.
Since the weather will be near 70 degrees this Saturday I am offering another bike tour at 12pm!
I apologize for the late notice, but we had planned to shut down tours for the season due to Chicago’s unpredictable fall weather. However, being that this Saturday looks to be sunny and clear skies I think it would be the perfect opportunity to bike around and discuss the neighborhood’s murals.
$10
Please feel free email/DM me with any questions. I do expect this to be the last public bike tour of the season. I hope to see you this Saturday!

During the protests against police brutality many Pilsen businesses boarded up their windows. Several artists use the boards as canvasses, many of which did this for free. Some local paint stores donated paint. I apologize that I could not credit every artist but please feel free to tag them in the comments. These images were taken at night after the businesses closed and installed the boards.

Our visitors from St Joseph School were out and about early this morning. Here they are checking out the tribute portraits mural at Cooper Elementary. The mural's design was led by the great Mr. Francisco Mendoza who was also an art instructor for many of Pilsen's youth.

We're truly grateful to have the support of our local art community. El Maestro Duarte welcomes visitors into his studio throughout the year to get a closer look at his art process. #pilsenchicago #muralismo #hectorduarte

Thrilled to be collaborating with The Chicago History Museum today! Here's Tour director Luis Tubens presenting the work of @sentrock to our visitors.

Ashland Ave & 19th Street. “I always hope the murals give you something more to think about than just a bowl of fruit would. There’s always politics in what I do, and hopefully people get some kind of meaning out of it.” (Chicago Sun-Times, 8.4.07)
